You can apply for a student visa to study in the UK if you are 16 years of age or older.
If you are 16 or 17 years old and you want to study at an independent school in the UK, you may be eligible for a Child Student Visa instead.
In order to be eligible for a student visa, the following must apply:
- You must have been offered a place on a course by a licensed student sponsor.
- You must have enough money to pay for your course and support yourself in the UK.
- You must have consent from your parents if you are under the age of 18 and you must meet the English language requirement.
Please note that if you are from the European Union and have started living in the UK before 1st January 2021, you may be able to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme, otherwise you will have to apply for a visa to study in the UK.
